Jamie Lee Evans is a foster care survivor, preferring to leave the word “alumni” to more pleasurable educational experiences outside of foster care. At 40 years old, Jamie received her Master of Social Work Degree, with the completion of her thesis entitled "The Cost of Misdiagnosing Loss: Exploratory Research Study on Foster Youth, Grief and Loss." When she is not making trouble or making community with former foster youth, Jamie rides her bike, enjoys bad reality television and listens to public radio. She is also the Director of the Y.O.U.T.H. Training Project.

Lori Fryzel is a 30-year-old survivor of both the foster care and adoption/abduction system in S. Korea and the U.S. She began working in progressive social work efforts as a young organizer and then received her bachelor's degree in social work from Eastern Michigan University. She is currently attending San Francisco State University for her MSW and is also the Field Coordinator for the Y.O.U.T.H. Training Project.
Sandra Estafan is a 29-year-old activist with a commitment to positive youth development. She is currently an MA student in the Cultural and Historical Study of Religions at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. She is a writer and visual artist, and is a member of Sunbula, a local Arab feminist collective. She is also the Project Assistant for the Y.O.U.T.H. Training Project.

Laura Forrest holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from San Francisco State University and
has been with the Bay Area Academy, the parent organization of the
Y.O.U.T.H. Training Project, for over three years. She performs many of the administrative duties for the Project's Humboldt County Transition Age Youth Collaboration (HCTAYC). When she’s not
working (or traveling to Humboldt), Laura enjoys getting to know the
East Bay, reading, making playlists and spending time with her friends
and family.
